"Measure twice, cut once" is a Russian proverb originally meant for carpenters and builders but is applicable to anything we do, isn't it? Try to do anything right in the first attempt by double-checking your work.

It might take a bit more time, but it is much better than coming back and correct your mistakes, which is not an enjoyable thing at all.
